Amici Italian Restaurant - A Winnipeg Institution

Amici has been one of Winnipeg's top restaurants for over 20 years, and to this day it still attracts a who's who of Winnipeg elite and foodies.

The restaurant established its stellar reputation under chef Heinz Kattenfeld's direction and since 2002 has been run by Patrick Shrupka. It continues to delight patrons with traditional Northern Italian flavours that doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is, an authentic Tuscan Italian restaurant.

Renee Zellweger's 'New In Town': Starring Winnipeg and Harry Connick Jr.

You may recall that Renee Zellweger was in town a year ago filming her upcoming romantic comedy called 'New In Town' starring Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr.. Renee Zellweger shot a few scenes in Winnipeg, one in particular took place at the Winnipeg Airport where she completely slipped and fell head-over-heals onto her rear-end. Don't believe me? A local 'Pegger caught it on video!

As you can imagine, Renee Zellweger may not have the most fond memories of our beloved frozen town. With her 'New In Town' movie scheduled to release in theatres on January 30 2009, Zellweger is hitting the press circuit now and someone asked her directly what she thought of Winterpeg. Here was her response...

So cold that you're taking your life into your own hands to go out of the house. So cold that wearing the clothes I did on the set, the little skirts and thin jackets, was really stupid even if it did look funny. My only defense was lots of pantyhose -- like three or four pairs. - Renee Zellweger

Canad Inn's 'Winter Wonderland' opening tomorrow

Head on over to the Red River Ex grounds where they will be having their Winter Wonderland. This great family event is full of amazing light displays and worth checking out. Admission is only $15 per vechicle... but if you want to save some money, head over to any Red River Co-Op Gas station or Canad Inns hotel. As well, there are free sleigh rides every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is definitely fun for the whole family! This will be running from 6pm - 10pm everyday until January 4.

WWE in Winnipeg, January 9!

If you haven't heard already, WWE will be returning to Winnipeg again and having the event at MTS Center. This event starts at 7:30pm, and will be featuring some of the greats from RAW such as John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Batista & Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes and so much more. With tickets starting as low as $20 and going on sale this Saturday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m., it's definitely worth checking out!
